Engineering Online Course Portal
Who Has Access?
CAETE makes courses available to distance students via the Internet (streaming and downloading) and on disc media (CDs or DVDs). On-campus students also have access to the course lectures (online only) for a fee if they are registered in a course that's being offered via distance learning and/or one that's cross-listed with that course (undergrad course meeting with the graduate course, math or business course meeting with an engineering course etc.)
Be sure that when you are requesting space on CULearn that you include the course numbers for all the courses that need access to the online lectures including the distance learning section numbers.
All distance learning students who register for lectures delivered via media (not Internet) receive a copy of class lecture on media that they may use until the end of the semester.
Students who register through main campus registration (CUConnect /PLUS) are not distance learning students (don't pay distance tuition) and are therefore not entitled to course media. As a service to on-campus students, CAETE provides one copy of each class lecture to the Engineering Library on CD-ROM. On-campus students may view the class lectures for the duration of the semester.
Upon request, CAETE will provide one copy of each class session in the desired format for the instructor. This provides an excellent means for you to review and critique your teaching performance. After the conclusion of the semester, you may use the media for your personal use only since CAETE has a market in the sale and rental of courses (refer to the Course Library section).
How to Access
Faculty and students who have elected to access courses online do so via CAETE’s Course Portal. To access the portal, go to engineeringonline.colorado.edu. For additional information go to our Online Access page.
Students who elect to access lectures via media will have the media shipped to their specified address. Please be cognizant of the lag time (about 1 week) and set deadlines accordingly. Refer to Distributing Materials to Students for additional information.
