Enhance your IT career by working with the latest Oracle databases and software!
The University of Colorado at Boulder has partnered with Oracle Corporation to offer the CU-Oracle online courses. These courses provide vital hands-on training and feature official textbooks, lab activities, and supplementary materials from Oracle Corporation. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for the Oracle certification exams and the courses can be applied towards the hands-on course requirement for the Oracle Database Certified Professional credential.
The CU-Oracle courses will prepare students to take the following Oracle Corporation certification exams:
In addition, included in the class fee is a one year student membership with the Oracle Workforce Development program (WDP). As a WDP member, students will receive a 25% discount on Oracle certification exams and a 50% discount on selected Oracle self test software. Student membership also includes access to the Oracle Technology Network (OTN), an Oracle sponsored online community with access to free software, OTN Internet developer conferences, and discussion group.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are also available.
The University of Colorado offers all of its Oracle courses via its new Online Learning System. Students will have access to an online class community shared with other students and their instructors. In addition, on occasion, professional Oracle consultants currently working in the field may be available to contribute their real-world experience via the online community. Here’s how it works:
Each class will have its own community portal in which the instructor will post key pieces of information such as the class syllabus, technical information, and class announcements. All assignments are given and submitted via the portal. The portal also features class email, message board, and links to all relevant Oracle databases and applications.
Students access recorded, multi-media formatted video sessions of each class lecture. These versatile, multi-media lectures show the instructor, any program that is displayed on the instructor’s computer, the instructor’s notes and real-time digital markups, and sound all together in a single presentation!
Students can access the class lectures by streaming on the Internet as often as they like and have the ability to pause, rewind and forward to key sections of interest.
The instructor will constantly monitor the class portal and be available to answer questions, provide feedback, and other guidance via the portal, community message board, internet chat, and internal class email system.
The instructor will post video lectures on a weekly basis for the students to view and perform lab and homework activities. The instructor will host live office hours each week via conference call, chat, and/or video conference.
Enjoy the flexibility of taking each class according to your own personal schedule. Registration is on an open, rolling basis. Register and complete the course anytime within the semester start and end date (with the only exception that the course cannot be completed in less than a two-week time period).
