Not-for-Credit Short Courses
With computers occupying almost every workplace, home, and school, technology has become a way of life. CAETE’s not-for-credit courses and certificates can help you make the most of the latest technology—regardless of your level of expertise. Through our curriculum, you can learn to master popular applications, or boost your career by building technical skills. Courses feature hands-on, online, or lecture instructions from respected IT industry leaders. All courses are relevant, current, and applicable because our instructors work in their fields and bring real-world experience to the classroom. All short courses are not-for-credit and do not apply toward a degree program.
Credit-Bearing Courses for No-Credit
Credit-bearing courses from the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences can be taken for no-credit (professional development). Refer to the course schedule (click on the semester you need) for a list of courses available through distance learning. Use the CAETE Online Registration form to register for credit-bearing courses for no-credit.
Certificate Programs
There are a number of certificate programs available for completion through CAETE, both credit-bearing and noncredit. Click on an area of interest below.
We encourage you to contact the applicable academic program/department to discuss application procedures, entrance requirements, and a study plan as soon as possible.
Not-for-Credit Certificates are offered by CAETE in several areas. See certificate information for more details. Courses are taught by industry experts who bring real-world experience to you. Classes are offered during evenings, weekends and/or online. No admission application is required. Simply indicate which certificate you're working toward on the Non-credit Registration form.

Credit-bearing certificates are offered by University of Colorado at Boulder academic programs/departments. CAETE provides classes from these academic programs/departments via the Internet, CD-ROM and traditional classroom experience. If you apply and are accepted into one of the available certificate programs, it is possible to complete all the course work through CAETE. Certificate coursework may be applied toward a master's degree from the applicable academic department at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
