Delivery Methods

Academic courses are offered in the campus classroom. The lectures are digitally recorded and are made available to all distance students in various formats (see below). Digital recordings give you the capability to view the complete lecture, obtain instructor notes, or listen to the audio only.

The primary delivery method for distance course is via the Internet (dowloading/streaming). To successfully stream or download, your computer, browser, and Internet connection need to meet certain minimum requirements. Digital recordings offer the following benefits:

• faster delivery (no shipping delays)
• can be downloaded onto your computer allowing viewing anywhere/anytime
• an integrated format provides easier-to-read instructor notes than TV format

All students registered for a distance course will automatically be given access to online course lectures. View the Course Access page for further information.

Individuals who are not registered for a distance course, but would like to gain access may do so for a fee. To view rates, refer to the rate chart page.

Library Courses

Library courses are courses recorded from previous semesters. Most courses are delivered via the Internet for downloading and streaming, some courses are available via CDs only. Refer to the library course list for each course's available format.

CD-ROM

Recorded lectures can be made available on CD-ROM if you are registered for a distance and/or library course in the current semester and need CD-ROMs instead of online access due to Internet connectivity problems or other issues. The CD-ROMS will be provided to you at no additional cost. To make a request, e-mail caete@colorado.edu.  Please provide the following information: your full name, course number, course title, and reason(s) why you need CD-ROMS.  CD-ROMs do not need to be returned.

CD-ROM Delivery

You can pick up the CD-ROMs from the CAETE office or they can be shipped to you. Indicate your preference on the Course Access / Media Request form.

Defective or Missing Media

If you receive media of poor quality, complete the Media Replacement Request form. If you do not receive media by the time you normally expect it, contact help@caete.colorado.edu to inquire about tracking the shipment or to order a replacement. There is no charge for replacing defective or missing media.

Campus Classroom

All courses are taught in the campus classroom unless otherwise noted in the course schedule. Distance students are welcome to attend class on campus provided space allows.

Copyright

All material, whether taken for course credit or purchased, is granted to user under a limited license for sole use of the recipient. All materials are copyrighted by the University of Colorado, and any unauthorized sharing, reproduction, broadcast, or resale is strictly prohibited. Rented material must be returned on the date it is due. If not returned by the due date, it will be deemed to have been purchased and subject to additional costs.
