Beginning with the spring 2009 semester, the procedure for accessing course lectures online has changed, depending on if you are taking a live distance learning course or a library distance learning course.
Each course instructor is assigned a specific URL where their recorded lectures are posted. CAETE will provide you with the URL before classes begin. If you have not received the URL by the first week of classes, please contact us at 303-492-6331, option #1.
· Students Registered for a Distance Course
Students who are registered for a distance course through CAETE will automatically have access to view their course lectures via the Internet (streaming/downloading). CD-ROMs can be made available by special request. Refer to the Course Delivery page for more details.
· Individuals Not Registered for a Distance Course
Individuals who are not registered for a distance course, but would like to gain access to the whole course or specific lectures may do so for a fee. To view rates, refer to the rate chart page. To request access, complete the Course Access / Media Request form. If you are a main campus student, instructors for the various courses have the discretion whether or not main campus students may have access to course lectures online free of charge. Main campus students can also access free recorded lectures via CDs at the Engineering Library.
· Students previously registered for a distance course who are completing an IF/I
If you are completing an IF/I for a distance course from a previous semester and need access to the recorded lectures, send an e-mail to caete@colorado.edu . Provide the following information: your full name, course number, course title, semester you took the course, and reason for access (completing an IF/I).
Go to EngineeringOnline.Colorado.edu. You will need your IdentiKey (CU username and password) to log in. If you don't know your identiKey, refer to the IDs and Computer Account Set-up page for more information.
If your IdentiKey doesn't work, it probably needs to be synchronized at the following site: http://adsync.colorado.edu/default.asp. If the ADSync site does not appear in the browser, please go to https://cuvpn.colorado.edu/dana-na/auth/url_default/welcome.cgi. Enter your username and password on that page. On the next page put http://adsync.colorado.edu in the window at the upper-right, next to "Browse." At the ADSynch site, you must once again enter your username and password. You will then be able to log in at the EngineeringOnline site.
If you have any questions or trouble accessing your lectures, please contact us at help@caete.colorado.edu or 303-492-2247.
Most courses are delivered via the Internet for downloading and streaming, some courses are available via CDs only. Refer to the library course list for each course's available format.
Lectures of live courses are recorded and made available via the Internet for streaming and downloading within 24 hours of the in-class lecture.
Access to library courses will be available the week before the semester begins. Please note that only the lectures for the first 2/3 of the course are posted. The last 1/3 will be ready to view by mid-semester.
Access to the course lectures is only available until the end of the semester for which you are registered. Access is reset at the beginning of each semester according to your registration status. If you are receiving an incomplete for your course, please be sure to download the course lectures before the end of the semester in order to avoid possible fees.
Friday August 14 is the deadline for accessing summer session 2009 lectures. Download your lectures by August 14 before access is turned off.
Sample lectures are now available for most courses. When you click on the course description from any of the semester schedules or the comprehensive course list, the available lectures will be listed toward the bottom of the page.
