Academic

Academic, credit courses are provided by the various departments and programs within the College of Engineering and Applied Science and offered to students via distance learning through CAETE. Online engineering courses from the college have been approved by the Graduate School and are taught by members of the graduate faculty. These semester-long engineering college courses may be taken for no-credit or to fulfill academic requirements to earn an academic graduate certificate or master’s degree. Academic grades (A, B, C, D, F) are earned. Professional Development

Professional development, noncredit short courses are provided by CAETE and feature hands-on, online, or lecture instruction from respected IT industry leaders. Our online technical and engineering courses are relevant, current, and applicable because our instructors work in their fields and bring real-world experience to the classroom. Noncredit short courses are for professional development only (cannot be applied toward an academic graduate certificate or master’s degree) and may be used for continuing education purposes or to fulfill requirements to earn a professional certificate or certification. Prerequisites

Most professional development and engineering college courses have prerequisites which should be completed before attending the course. Equivalent experience or courses from another institution may be accepted in place of the prerequisite(s). To determine the prerequisites for your course, click on the course link (to read the course description) in the applicable list of courses from the Courses drop-down menu. Contact the instructor if you are unsure you have the necessary background to satisfy the prerequisite.
