EMEN 5050: Leadership
Description
Provides working engineers a background in leadership and management theory; enables students to develop practical skills in leading and managing through numerous exercises. Topics include authentic leadership, leadership styles, managing commitments, conflict resolution, change management, organizational culture and emotional intelligence. Required for all engineering management degree students. Same as EMEN 5050.

Objectives
The purpose of the course is to explore the basic concepts of leadership and the essential skills required to become an effective manager.
Prerequisites
EMEN 5010 (Intro. to Engineering Management) for all engineering management degree/certificate students or instructor consent.

E-mail and Internet access required. Students must register on the web at ecollegedirect.ecollege.com for the eCollege companion to this course and take the online Myers-Briggs Type Indicator ($30 for test and booklet).
