TLEN 5920: Independent Study
Description
An opportunity to study an area of the student's interests under the guidance of a faculty member. (Recommended topics for research oriented independent study projects can be found on the
ITP Research Ideas page.) Students must first approach a faculty member with a project proposal. The student must choose a faculty member with expertise in the area of the proposal. If the instructor approves the proposal, the student and professor must then determine the course work requirements and the number of credit hours to be granted for the work using the
Independent Study Form. The form may be submitted in paper or by email - a form received by email from a faculty member is assumed to have been approved by that faculty member. After the form has been submitted and approved, the student may register for TLEN 5920. No more than 5 credit hours of TLEN 5920 may be applied towards either an MS or an ME degree.
